Recorded connections
Portals connect areas within the same region. Reaching an exit for the first time opens the next area, and the arrival side provides a route back.

Cross together
Bring all players close to the portal before travelling. In a room hosted in an area you have not unlocked, the reference warns that further area unlocks are unavailable for that session even though activity progress can still be saved.
A portal route shows which area is next; it does not prove that every challenge or collectible in the current area is complete. Use the area page to check unfinished objectives before leaving.
