Prepare the vehicle you will actually drive
Crazy Günther appears once in each of the five recorded areas. The reference awards 10 Pebbles for the first visit in each area, and a discovered Mechanic is a map respawn destination.

Budget per vehicle
Upgrades apply to the selected vehicle rather than the whole garage. The seven upgrade types contain 16 purchased stages, costing 675 Pebbles in total for one fully upgraded vehicle in the reference data. Check a stage's prerequisite before planning a single purchase.
Choose tools for the obstacle ahead, then visit a cabin when equipped supplies need restoring.
