As a child growing up in the capital, Pikemead's Reach, she met Valory the Bard. One day, while playing her lyre, she accidentally broke a string and burst into tears. After it was repaired, she declared she wanted to be friends forever. To seal the promise, she suggested they follow a Kindlewaste custom. They both cut the palms of their hands, forging a bond of eternal friendship in blood.

The ruler of the Kindlewastes—a region once lush and green, now transformed into a harsh and inhospitable desert—led a caravan seeking refuge from the encroaching Shroud in the Springlands. Along the journey, she encountered Emily Fray, the owner of the 'Far Away Fray' Tavern in Brittle Bush. Inspired and immediately smitten with the Queen, Emily decided to join the caravan. As they traveled together, the two developed romantic feelings for each other.

To ensure the safety of her people, the Queen decided to split the caravan into two groups: one heading north to Pikemead's Reach and the other to Longkeep. Opting to remain with the southern caravan, she journeyed through Surat's Rest and the Pillars of Creation before finally reaching Longkeep.

Sometime after arriving in Longkeep, the Queen traveled to the Blackmire Swamp of Revelwood. There, she met with the Ancients and participated in a sacred ceremony. During this ritual, she witnessed a new starry constellation and noticed that something in the night sky had changed.
