Comfort

Comfort gives the Rested status if you stand in a location with no threats nearby, items providing comfort, warmth and you are Sheltered. Each level of comfort adds one minute to how long your character will be rested while adventuring. The skill Well Rested adds +2 minutes (per level of Well Rested for a max of 6), and some Armor also adds a few seconds. Musical Instruments can be played to increase your Rested timer by an additional two minutes.
NOTE: Currently the amount of time given by each level of comfort does not give 1 minute. (This has been reported to Keen as a potential bug on their Bug Tracker.)

Overview

The Rested status provides significantly increased Stamina and Stamina Regeneration: If you are tired, then your endurance is much less and you can't sprint, dodge, glide, mine, or chop trees as long or often, giving a disadvantage in combat and all activities. Resting is necessary to be fit, and resting in a comfortable home is more revitalizing.

Items

Maximum Comfort

The Flame Altar gives 1 Comfort by default, making the maximum Comfort level 120. You can play Musical Instruments to get +1, +2 or +3 temporary buffs.

Note: Comfort categories may not always align with in-game descriptions. Certain items (e.g., chairs and tables) provide Comfort bonuses despite being grouped under the same category. These discrepancies have been reported to Keen; until resolved, the values listed here reflect observed in-game behavior rather than intended categorization.
