Musical Instruments were added in the Melodies of the Mire update, crafted by the Bard.
Playing an instrument for a short time, increases your comfort bonus by +1.
In addition, the first time one of the common instruments enters a player's inventory, they will learn an associated song.

Ornate Instruments

Playing an ornate instrument for a short time, increases your comfort bonus by +2.
The instruments are found next to lore notes related to their previous owners, the Honeydews band, except the drum, which is looted after defeating its previous owner.
