The item was added as part of the Souls of the Frozen Frontier update so the shroud areas in Albaneve Summits contain this item. Specifically, many Chanterelle can be found close to the Watchtower point of interest in the shroud directly north of the Nomad Heights spire.
It tastes incredibly bitter when raw, but develops a zesty aroma while cooked.

Note, These are rather small and can be missed with ease if you're not looking down towards the ground.
Note, for easier farming of this item there are several patches of this mushroom just south west of the Ancient Spire Albaneve Summits, See picture for details
