Overview

Yaks are wooly animals made for cold weather, they can be found in the Albaneve Summits region.

Fleeting

  • Yaks are fleeting creatures.

  • Yaks will turn and flee if the player or any hostile creature is close enough and within line of sight.

  • Hostile creatures from other factions will attack Yaks if they enter their detection range.

Albaneve Summits

Taming

Yaks can be tamed with Yak Food Bait. They require three successful pet interactions (💛💛💛) to be tamed.

After being brought to your base they require shelter, a Big Farm Animal Pillow and a Yak Feeder with Yak Food. You can craft these at the Farmer NPC.

Breeding

If provided with a spare bed, a pair of Yaks have a chance to produce offspring (Baby Yak).

See Animals Husbandry for breeding instructions, a complete list of farm animals, and more.

Produce

Yaks produce Raw Wool every ~10 minutes when sheltered and fed. They can hold up to eight (8) and won’t produce more beyond this limit until it's collected.

They will also produce when unfed, but at a much slower rate. Production will happen regardless of player distance.
