Flightless Redtail

Overview

Flightless Redtail is a colorful bird found in the Nomad Highlands region.

Fleeting

• Flightless Redtails are fleeting creatures.

• Flightless Redtails will turn and flee if the player or any hostile creature is close enough and within line of sight.

• Hostile creatures from other factions will attack Flightless Redtails if they enter their detection range.

Nomad Highlands

• East of Fanning ranch, on top of the plateau (sightings of up to 2).

• South-west of Fanning ranch, on top of the detached peak (sightings of up to 4).

Taming

Flightless Redtail can be tamed with Bird Food Bait. They require three successful pet interactions (💛💛💛) to be tamed.

After being brought to your base they require shelter, a Farm Animal Pillow and a Bird Feeder with Bird Food. You can craft these at the Farmer NPC.

Breeding

If provided with a spare bed, a pair of Flightless Redtail have a chance to produce offspring (Baby Flightless Redtail).

See Animals Husbandry for breeding instructions, a complete list of farm animals, and more.

Produce

Flightless Redtail produce Eggs every 20 minutes when sheltered and fed. They can hold up to four (4) and won’t produce more beyond this limit until it's collected.

They will also produce when unfed, but at a much slower rate. Production will happen regardless of player distance.
